Job summary

C&W Services (S) is seeking a Building HVAC Technician for our Cambridge, MA properties. You will operate, maintain and repair building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, energy management, water treatment, and fire protection.

You will install and service complex equipment, oversee work crews, and train junior staff to maintain high skill levels. The role requires strong knowledge of Building Automation Systems, OSHA/NEC knowledge, and the ability to work independently with on-call

Qualifications

• MA Refrigeration Technician(RT) license required.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 4–6 years as Engineer 1 or equivalent.
• Comprehensive HVAC and building engineering training and/or certifications.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• OSHA, NEC and NFC codes knowledge.
• On-call availability with potential alternative schedules.
• Strong knowledge of Building Automation Systems and mechanical controls.
• Proficient with building management and work-order systems like Angus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee day-to-day operation, maintenance and repair of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, energy management, water treatment).
• Install, fabricate, troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Plan workloads, obtain tools and materials, complete assignments and paperwork promptly.
• Assist/build supervision of engineers and technicians; train staff to raise skill levels.
• Monitor water treatment and review weekly reports for deficiencies.
• Coordinate with contractors and inspect their work; generate deficiency lists.
• Maintain equipment, tools, uniforms; keep areas clean and safe.
• Follow preventive maintenance procedures; support loss control programs.
• Record tenant requests and repairs; ensure compliance with local regulations.
