Job summary

UG2 is seeking a Maintenance Technician 3 in Boston, MA, to maintain, repair, and install HVAC systems, ductwork, and controls across commercial facilities. You will troubleshoot, perform repairs, and uphold preventive maintenance programs to ensure safe, efficient operation for tenants and staff.

Daily responsibilities include responding to service requests, maintaining logs, and coordinating with management and engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience as a maintenance technician in a commercial/industrial facility.
• Familiarity with HVAC and electrical codes.
• Ability to plan and organize work.
• Proficiency in brazing, soldering, and welding.
• HVAC license a plus; mechanical and electrical aptitude with large tonnage HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot HVAC equipment and controls to identify problems and perform repairs.
• Conduct ongoing maintenance as part of preventive maintenance program.
• Install ductwork, refrigeration piping, air conditioning units, and exhaust equipment.
• Operate, maintain, and log HVAC & MEP equipment under supervision.
• Respond to tenant service requests and build positive relationships.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Maintain logs detailing preventive work performed on equipment.
• Assist in inventory management and ordering of supplies.
• Respond to emergencies and client concerns promptly.
• Review tenant improvement plans and inspect construction areas for compliance.
• Inspect buildings and equipment for unsafe conditions and report to management.
• Perform minor repairs on doors, hardware, locks, windows, ceilings, and floors.
• Suggest improvements to maintenance operations and cost savings.
