Job summary

SPR Packaging Rockwall in Rockwall, TX is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to perform general maintenance and preventive/predictive maintenance on plant support equipment. You will supervise contractor work, troubleshoot electrical/hydraulic circuits, and ensure safe, continuous operation of HVAC, compressors, and related systems.

The role requires reading schematics, using CMMS software, and ability to work with various mechanical and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Experience using CMMS software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise contractors working in the plant on related infrastructure equipment.
• Bring your own tools and be prepared with basic electrical test tools and hand tools.
• Maintain housekeeping and apply Good Manufacturing Practices.

Perform general maintenance and preventative/predictive maintenance on a variety of low air compressors, chillers, HVAC, docks, doors, lights and other plant support equipment. Must be able to operate elevated height equipment such as scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, etc. Individual is required to have proven knowledge and skill of basic mechanical, basic electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic theory and procedure to troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance and complete necessary repairs.

You will apply your knowledge to the following areas in maintenance and repair of facility support equipment. Including but not limited to analyze, setup, and maintain equipment for safe and continuous operation. Must be capable of reworking or modifying electrical circuitry in order to change the status of equipment (motors, install relays and starters, install control circuits). Must possess a degree of skills with refrigeration, drying, conveying, fluid pumps, blowing, and vacuum pumps and pneumatic circuits.

Responsibilities

This position will require supervising contractors working in the plant on related infrastructure equipment within your area.

Supplies own tools sufficient to perform maintenance tasks including basic electrical test tools, industrial hand tools, some air and hand tools, plumbing tools, welding tools and a toolbox.

Maintains housekeeping of all assigned areas. This includes cleaning up after making repairs and applying Good Manufacturing Practices to meet plant goals.

You must remain on assignment until each job is complete or until released by a proper authority.

Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as trained during the various safety-related training programs. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and managers.

EDUCATION

• Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values and enter this information into an online database.
• Strong mathematical ability is essential.
• Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgement calls based on the situation.
• Ability to use CMMS software.
