Job summary

Colliers in Joliet, IL seeks a Building Engineer to maintain the property’s mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems. You will handle preventative and necessary maintenance, respond to client requests, and prioritize work orders to minimize downtime.

With 2–5 years of building maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license, you’ll work in a service-oriented environment, possibly on-call, supporting safety and reliability across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years experience in building/property maintenance or engineering.
• CFC Certification or ability to obtain.
• Solid knowledge of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Flexibility to be on-call for after-hours or weekend emergencies.
• Valid driver's license and clear MVR.
• Licenses per building/jurisdiction may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and necessary maintenance on building systems.
• Address repairs to mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing equipment.
• Respond to client requests, prioritize and complete work orders.
• Follow up to ensure minimal downtime and clear communication.
