Job summary

Hines is seeking a Building Engineer to maintain and operate building systems, ensuring reliable performance and a best-in-class client experience across the property.

You will perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, document operating logs, adapt controls, and support safety procedures while collaborating with staff to meet goals. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work varied shifts to support after-hours operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• 2+ years commercial HVAC or related experience.
• Strong supervisory and analytical abilities with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building systems to meet service level standards and deliver client-centric experiences.
• Support engineering staff in delivering Hospitality Standards.
• Keep operation logs for central plant operations and other equipment inspections.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems.
• Adjust controls and respond to work orders to resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and city/state/federal regulations.
