Job summary

Range Commercial Partners, Inc. in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Building Engineer to inspect and maintain building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, ensuring operations meet design specs and client environmental targets.

You'll perform repairs, manage work orders, supervise contractors, maintain lighting, and ensure safety and OSHA compliance while coordinating with the Property Manager.

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Advanced knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, roofing, drywall, carpentry, and HVAC troubleshooting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, electrical, plumbing) to ensure operations meet design specs.
• Perform day-to-day repairs, emergency maintenance, and preventive maintenance on assigned properties.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and systems.
• Receive and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Oversee and inspect work by outside contractors.
• Maintain lighting systems and replace bulbs/lamps.
• Order materials within manager-approved limits.
• Close out work orders with required paperwork.
• Maintain trade certifications and licenses.
• Coordinate with Property Manager on maintenance goals and priorities.
