Job summary

Jobtailor in Illinois seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to operate, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems across a commercial facility. You will perform preventative maintenance, record readings, and supervise outside contractor work.

The role requires 5+ years in building systems, proficiency with CMMS (Corrigo), BAS, and relevant EPA certifications; HS diploma or GED is required, with physical stamina for varied conditions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
  • Ability to analyze the operation of various industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS Corrigo.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Physical ability to bend, sit, kneel, squat, stand, reach, and access equipment components.
  • Ability to work exposed to varying environmental conditions including heat, sun, rain, cold, and both daylight and nighttime hours.
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification or higher for refrigerant handling (preferred).
  • Additional EPA certifications (Universal certification preferred) (preferred).
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) (preferred).
  • Trade certifications or technical school training in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing disciplines (preferred).

  • Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
  • Maintain responsibility for facility services, purchasing and inventory control.
  • Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
  • Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on plumbing fixtures.
  • Comply with departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
