Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician in Mesa, AZ to operate, repair, and optimize building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, document readings, and coordinate with contractors to ensure quality work.

The role requires 5+ years in commercial building maintenance, CMMS knowledge, and the ability to work in varied conditions. EPA certifications are preferred; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience maintaining commercial building systems.
• Ability to analyze industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and take corrective action.
• Working knowledge of CMMS, such as Corrigo.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Physical ability to bend, sit, kneel, squat, stand, reach, and lie as required.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including heat, sun, rain, cold, and night shifts.
• EPA 608 Type II Certification or higher for refrigerant handling (preferred).
• Additional EPA certifications, Universal preferred (preferred).
• Experience with BAS and CMMS (preferred).
• Trade certifications/training in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing (preferred).
• Experience in mission-critical facilities or 24/7 operations (preferred).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across building systems.
• Operate, maintain, and repair mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Record readings and system parameters, adjust settings, identify issues.
• Monitor quality and cost of maintenance by outside contractors.
• Manage facility services, purchasing, inventory, and contracted maintenance.
• Check tool and instrument inventory and ensure readiness.
• Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems, including ballast replacement.
• Maintain and repair plumbing fixtures and operate drain cleaning augers.
• Comply with hazardous-material storage, usage, and disposal policies; maintain safe workplace.

Job description

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Physical ability to bend, sit, kneel, squat, stand, reach, and lie as required to access equipment components for extended periods
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, sunlight, rain, cold, daylight, and nighttime hours
• EPA 608 Type II Certification or higher for refrigerant handling (preferred)
• Additional EPA certifications, with Universal certification preferred (preferred)
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and CMMS (preferred)
• Trade certifications or technical school training in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing disciplines (preferred)
• Experience in mission-critical facilities or environments requiring 24/7 operations (preferred)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
