We’re seeking a skilled Building Engineer responsible for maintaining all building systems, ensuring efficient building operation, supervising field work, and providing tenant services.

Responsibilities :
  1. Maintain and repair all building systems including HVAC, water treatment, electrical, lighting, plumbing, energy management, fire protection, structural, hardware, and keying.
  2. Install, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical and electrical equipment.
  3. Coordinate work assignments, plan tasks, and oversee the work of Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, and Utility Workers.
  4. Ensure thorough knowledge of equipment and employ proper service procedures following preventive maintenance and loss control programs.
  5. Operate equipment safely and efficiently, caring for tools and uniforms.
  6. Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  7. Follow operational and safety procedures.
  8. Inspect building areas, report deficiencies, and suggest improvements.
  9. Monitor contractors' work and generate deficiency lists.
  10. Be available for various shifts, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  11. Perform functions comparable to a Chief Engineer.
  12. Maintain a positive appearance and attitude, demonstrating excellent tenant relations and team spirit.
  13. Assist in implementing policies and procedures established by Engineering Management.
  14. Manage inventory control for spare parts and materials.
  15. Respond to after-hours emergencies such as fires, floods, severe weather, power outages, and clean-up activities.
  16. Assist in training and upgrading skills of less experienced personnel.
  17. Pursue employee development as recommended by management.
  18. Contribute to property impairment and loss prevention programs.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Competency, Experience, and Skills :
  1. Training and certification in HVAC or Operating Engineering Technologies, or equivalent experience.
  2. Universal CFC certification preferred.
  3. Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Building Engineer or similar field.
  4. Continuing education in the field.
  5. Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and coordinate tasks efficiently.
  7. Proficiency with Building Automation Systems and understanding of OSHA, NEC, NFC, and Life Safety codes.
Essential Functions :
  1. Stand, walk, reach, and use arms regularly.
  2. Talk, hear, and occasionally taste and smell.
  3. Sit, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and climb stairs/ladders frequently.
  4. Lift/move up to 20 pounds regularly, and over 50 pounds occasionally.
  5. Visual abilities include close, distance, color, and depth perception.
