Job description

Gale Associates, Inc. is seeking a Staff Designer to join our Glastonbury, CT office. Gale is a well-respected national engineering/planning firm celebrating over 61 years in business and rated one of Zweig White’s “Best Firms to Work For” for the past 11 consecutive years.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. The selected candidate will join our Building Enclosure Design and Consulting (BEDC) Group to perform field evaluations, basic engineering, construction observation, submittal review, and CAD drafting. The focus of BEDC is the thermal, moisture, air, and structural performance of building enclosures.
Requirements:
  1. ABET-accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Construction, Structural Engineering, or Architecture.
  2. Practical hands-on knowledge and Co-op experience in the construction trades are desired.
  3. Understanding of basic engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theories.
  4. Engineering candidates must have passed the FE exam or be scheduled to take it.
  5. Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment with general instructions.
  6. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS Office (2013) and AutoCAD.
