Intertek is seeking a Building Enclosure Project Specialist in Lake Forest, California to support design and construction phases, enclosure consulting, and commissioning. The role involves frequent travel (approx.

25%) to project sites and may include evaluating and repairing existing buildings. You will perform field testing, QA observations, and construction administration while developing skills in enclosure reviews, sketches, and reports for diverse projects within the Building Science

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years’ experience in Building Enclosure consulting or Building Construction industry.
• Working knowledge of building construction, roofing, and other building enclosure systems.
• Construction administration, progress observation and site inspection experience.
• Ability to efficiently work on multiple projects in a team environment.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
• Consistent and professional interaction and communication.
• Ability to observe work from ladders, boom-lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, roofs, etc.
• Ability to travel frequently within and outside the local area, estimate 25% travel time.

Responsibilities

• Complete field performance testing and water leakage testing of roofing and waterproofing systems, windows, curtain walls, and other building elements.
• Perform quality assurance observations and monitor the construction process to assure roofing projects stay in compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Perform construction administration services and site visits.
• Assist with/perform forensic investigations and documentation of existing conditions including wall claddings, windows, curtain wall systems, roofs, skylights, plaza waterproofing and below grade elements.
• Prepare professionally written field reports.
• Learn to perform building enclosure reviews of architectural drawings, shop drawings and submittals.
• Learn to prepare sketches and details using Bluebeam and hand-drawn techniques.
