Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is seeking a motivated Building Enclosure Engineer-in-Training I (EIT I) to join our Building Enclosure Services team in the United States.

You will support evaluation, design, testing, and review of building enclosure systems, including roofing, walls, windows, waterproofing, and air/vapor barriers, collaborating with experienced engineers to ensure performance and resilience across projects.

Qualifications

• M.S. or B.S. in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, Building Science, or Bachelor of Architecture
• Willingness to perform field work at active construction sites
• Interest in enclosure-related software and tools

Responsibilities

• Support evaluation, design, testing, and review of building enclosure systems.
• Assist in developing and executing test procedures for enclosure systems.
• Perform construction site visits to verify system performance and field testing.
• Review submittals and shop drawings for contract conformance.
• Demonstrate ability to learn basics of design within discipline.
