Job summary

SSR is seeking a Building Enclosure Engineer-in-Training I (EIT I) to join our Building Enclosure Services team. You will support design, testing, and review of enclosure systems for roofs, walls, windows, and waterproofing, helping ensure durability and energy efficiency on diverse projects.

Minimum qualifications include a BS/MS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering, Building Science, or Architecture, with a willingness to perform field work and learn enclosure software and tools.

Qualifications

• M.S. or B.S. in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, Building Science, or Bachelor of Architecture
• Demonstrated ability to learn basics of design and analysis within the discipline
• Willingness to perform field work (climbing ladders, rooftops, active construction sites)

Responsibilities

• Apply architectural/engineering principles to roofing, walls, glazing, waterproofing, and air/vapor control systems
• Conduct peer reviews of drawings; flag coordination/constructability issues
• Review submittals and shop drawings for conformance with contract documents
• Assist in developing and executing test procedures for enclosure systems
• Perform construction site visits to verify system performance and field testing
• Support condition surveys and investigations of existing buildings
• Help develop repair design documents under supervision
• Learn enclosure-related software and tools
• Adhere to ethical engineering standards and SSR policies
