Job summary

Exelon in Upper Marlboro, MD is seeking an Electrician I helper to support maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems across facilities. You will assist senior electricians, read wiring diagrams, and ensure safe, code-compliant work.

You will perform tasks from wiring and lighting to HVAC components and fire alarm systems, with opportunities to gain experience with 480V equipment, safety procedures, and basic carpentry for mounts and supports.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of electrical maintenance or installation experience.
Ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
Knowledge of electrical codes and safety practices.
Valid driver’s license.
Willingness to work overtime per union agreement.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

Assist senior electricians with wiring, lighting, circuits, and related devices.
Inspect, test, and repair HVAC-related electrical components and controls.
Maintain fire alarm and safety systems; perform safety switch tests.
Perform routine maintenance to prevent equipment failures and ensure safety compliance.
Assist with temporary low-voltage setups for events and installations; operate company vehicles as needed.
