Job summary

HDR is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design on large institutional and industrial projects, coordinating with design teams and project managers to ensure on-schedule delivery and compliance with codes.

You will review documents, write specifications, and coordinate with disciplines to implement changes. The role requires PE/P.Eng status and strong AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP, AGI, and Easy Power skills. HDR promotes employee ownership and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Requires PE or P.Eng license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
• Experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work of the electrical design team on large institutional/industrial projects through schematic design development and contract document phase.
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
• Coordinate workload to complete the document on schedule.
• Conduct work sessions at the project site with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
• Write/edit electrical specifications and select equipment, electrical systems and devices.
• Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders and incorporate changes into project documents.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators or Technicians.
• Provide mentoring and oversight for less-experienced staff on projects including Federal, Laboratory, Higher Education, and Data Center & Semiconductor.
