Job summary

The Town of Brookline seeks a dependable Building Custodian to support daily operations at the Brookline Senior Center. You will maintain cleanliness, support programs, and perform routine maintenance to create a safe, welcoming space for older adults and visitors.

Responsibilities include opening the building, setting up events, managing supplies, and performing minor repairs. Must have a high school diploma and a valid Class D driver’s license, with ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in custodial or maintenance work preferred.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and work independently.

Responsibilities

Open and secure the building daily and prepare spaces for use.
Set up and break down furniture, equipment, and refreshments for programs and events.
Maintain cleanliness of interior spaces and dispose of waste.
Perform minor repairs and report major issues to building department.
Monitor building systems and ensure boilers, HVAC, and elevator function.
Maintain inventories, order supplies, and prepare work orders.
