Job summary

The Brookline Building Department is seeking a part-time Custodial Assistant to perform custodial work in and around municipal buildings. The Custodial Assistant will sweep and wash floors; vacuum; empty trash; clean sinks and counter tops; clean toilets; clean mirrors; wash walls and stalls; replace bathroom supplies; dust. Perform similar or related work as required, or as situation dictates.

Salary is $21.30 per hour for 18.75 hours per week. Position open until filled.

Qualifications

• Ability to use hand tools for repairs and maintenance; follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials and methods; custodial/maintenance experience preferred.
• Moderate to strenuous physical effort including moving or lifting equipment and furniture required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and wash floors; vacuum; empty trash; clean sinks and counter tops.
• Clean toilets, mirrors; wash walls and stalls; replace bathroom supplies.
• Dust surfaces and fixtures; perform related cleaning tasks as needed.
