Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced controls technician to conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation and commissioning of building automation systems on customer sites. You will mentor technicians, ensure safety standards, and deliver high customer satisfaction with technical solutions in real time.

Responsibilities include diagnosing complex control system issues, providing field proposals for upgrades, and delivering complete project documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6) years commercial controls troubleshooting experience in HVAC buildings and systems.
• Vocational school or associate's degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience servicing electronic or mechanical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
• Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
• Knowledge of control theory and building automation subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex building control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of electronic/digital controls and software.
• Consult with customers to assess site needs and provide field proposals for retrofits or upgrades.
• Manage work to ensure timely, high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
• Provide sketches and documentation for engineering corrections and drawings.
• Install and modify software and graphics for control systems.
