Job summary

GrayMatter seeks an Engineering Team Lead for Building Automation in Dallas, TX. You will lead a team of Controls Systems Engineers, Technicians, and Specialists, guiding performance and project execution.

You will drive BAS project delivery, PLC/SCADA work, and onsite support while partnering with PM, engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure client satisfaction and timely results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• 5–8+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
• Proven leadership of technical teams.
• Strong PLC programming and SCADA experience.
• Familiarity with building or power management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Controls Systems Engineers, Technicians, and Specialists.
• Conduct performance reviews, establish development goals, and support career growth for assigned team members.
• Execute BAS projects while maintaining scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Deliver controls engineering, commissioning, PLC programming, and SCADA integration services.
• Perform onsite troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and technical support activities.
• Partner with project management, engineering, commissioning, and commercial teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Drive client satisfaction and maintain strong customer relationships throughout project lifecycles.
• Support resource planning, utilization management, and scheduling for assigned team members.
• Assist with the development of controls standards, best practices, and team processes.
• Participate in pre-sales activities including project scoping, bill of materials development, and proposal support.
• Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding activities as assigned.
