Job summary

GrayMatter in Tulsa is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to provide leadership, coaching, and technical oversight for a team of Controls Systems Engineers, Technicians, and Specialists while also contributing hands-on to Building Automation Services projects.

This player/coach role combines people leadership with advanced controls engineering expertise to ensure successful project delivery, client satisfaction, and ongoing team development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field; equiv. experience may be considered.
• 5–8+ years in industrial automation or controls engineering.
• Demonstrated leadership of technical teams.
• Strong PLC programming, SCADA, and industrial automation experience.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Controls Systems Engineers, Technicians, and Specialists.
• Conduct performance reviews and support career growth for team members.
• Deliver BAS projects with scope, schedule, budget, and quality control.
• Provide controls engineering, commissioning, PLC programming, and SCADA integration.
• Perform onsite troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and technical support.
• Collaborate with project management and other teams to ensure project success.
• Drive client satisfaction and maintain strong relationships throughout projects.
