Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) seeks an experienced instructor to develop and teach Building Automation Systems courses. This 0.5 FTE, on‑campus position may require evening availability and may involve campus or online delivery as needed.

The role requires relevant degrees or apprenticeships, substantial hands-on credentials, and recent experience with Metasys, Niagara, BACnet/IP, and building controls; the instructor will support curriculum development, student advising, and program

Qualifications

• Educational degrees or apprenticeships as required.
• Apprenticeship or technical diploma in building automation or related field.
• Experience with building controls and energy management is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and deliver instruction and teaching activities.
• Manage the classroom and laboratory.
• Develop curriculum and monitor program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with advisory committee and participate in meetings.
• Promote MATC programs and recruit/retain students.
• Support student organizations and advising.
• Maintain certification and stay current in the field.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Associate or Bachelor in Architecture/Engineering/HVAC field

Apprenticeship in Refrigeration Service/Environmental Technician/Facilities Maintenance/Electricity
