Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Building Automation Solutions Developer in a hybrid role. You will support sales with scope development, craft proposals, and interact with customers and internal teams to define BAS requirements. You will apply knowledge of BAS components, HVAC systems, and energy optimization to propose cost-saving solutions.

The role requires 2+ years in related fields, along with travel up to 20%. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, and authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in sales, estimating, field, or design engineering in direct support of Building Automation Systems (HVAC)
• Demonstrated knowledge of BAS components: controllers, sensors, output devices, communications
• HVAC/mechanical systems knowledge and building energy efficiency understanding
• Ability to travel nationwide for company business up to 20%
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Must be 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Assist sales with scope development on opportunities not fully developed by an Engineer of Record
• Develop a scope of work for a Siemens proposal using problem-solving and attention to detail
• Interact with customers, vendors, and internal teams effectively
• Understand Building Automation Systems and optimize energy efficiency through automation and controls
• Evaluate material and pricing to suggest substitutions meeting specs
• Communicate product, installation, and commissioning risk factors during cost reviews
• Develop sequences of operations and influence product selection including 3rd party products
• Interpret customer requirements from drawings, specs, and meetings and suggest alternatives to differentiate Siemens
