Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Building Automation Solutions Developer in a hybrid role in the United States. You will support sales with scope development, prepare estimates, and coordinate across customers, vendors, and internal teams to optimize energy efficiency through BAS and building systems.

You will work with engineering and operations to assess costs, review materials, and influence product selection while traveling up to 20% and aligning with Siemens standards for successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in sales, estimating, field, or design engineering supporting BAS (HVAC).
• Knowledge of BAS components including controllers, sensors, and communications.
• Understanding HVAC and mechanical systems, smart buildings, and energy efficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel nationwide up to 20%.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist sales with scope development on opportunities not fully developed by an Engineer of Record or lacking information in well-defined plans and specifications.
• Develop a scope of work for Siemens proposals while using problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Understand Building Automation Systems including airside and waterside controls and optimize energy efficiency through automation and mechanical analysis.
• Evaluate material and pricing to suggest substitutions meeting specs.
• Communicate risk factors before and during cost reviews.
• Help develop sequence of operations and influence product selection.
• Interpret customer requirements from drawings, specs, and meetings and suggest alternatives.
• Participate in customer site visits for job walks, meetings (in-person or remote).
• Coordinate estimating with a local ops team during cost review and handover meetings.
• Assist with pre-construction opportunities and manage multiple projects to deadlines.
• Align with Siemens operations center structure for creating estimates.
