Job summary

LONG Building Technologies, a leading HVAC controls provider in the United States, seeks a Sales Engineer for the Building Automation/Temperature Controls unit in Portland, OR. You will sell temperature control projects, develop plans, and drive profitable, timely solutions for design-build, plan and specification jobs.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $105,000 base, plus commission. Eligible employees receive comprehensive benefits and participate in a profit-sharing program as applicable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of sales-related work experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, building automation, and electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
• Valid driver license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow assigned territory with building owners, end-users, engineers, and contractors.
• Achieve booking and gross margin goals; target $2–4M annual bookings.
• Develop sales plans and prepare proposals, estimates, specs, and presentations.
• Explain technical aspects of products to customers to ensure understanding.
• Coordinate with operations, finance, and other teams to close sales.
• Prepare sales activity reports and forecast reports.
