Job summary

Harris in Boise, Idaho is offering a Building Automation Intern position for Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on exposure to HVAC controls, testing, and site safety while working on construction projects.

As a current student pursuing mechanical or electrical engineering or related fields, you will develop problem-solving and teamwork skills and see how your work contributes to project success across departments.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, construction, or related field.
  • Interest in a career in mechanical contracting/HVAC industry.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and how they operate.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience on building automation projects and calibration tasks.
  • Assist with testing and verification of mechanical systems on construction sites.
  • Learn site-specific safety policies and procedures and apply them on the job.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand how the role impacts the business.
