Job summary

ArtCenter College of Design is seeking an experienced Facilities Systems Technician to maintain and optimize critical building systems on campus. The role focuses on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BMS/BAS controls, and energy management, performing diagnostics and repairs to ensure reliable operations.

The position is full-time, on-site at Hillside Campus with rotating shifts between campuses. Requires strong troubleshooting skills, safety awareness, and willingness to respond to emergencies as

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, Electrical Technology, Building Automation, Industrial Maintenance or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities maintenance with complex building systems.
• Valid California Driver License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete and timely service on assigned tasks and work orders.
• Troubleshoot HVAC equipment including air handlers, chillers, boilers, cooling towers and exhaust systems.
• Diagnose electrical issues involving motors, relays, contactors, VFDs and distribution equipment.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Document repairs and root cause finding.
• Operate tools and equipment to complete repairs.
