Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Commercial Controls Technician to service and commission building automation systems. Under minimal supervision, you will diagnose, repair, install and tune complex control systems for customer sites, delivering high levels of satisfaction and partnering with other technicians.

You will mentor junior staff, document work, and provide on-site training to owners/operators.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years Commercial Controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Vocational school or associate degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
• Able to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
• Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
• Demonstrate writing skills and understanding of programs and software.
• Knowledge of control theory and building automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions.
• Consult with customers and propose retrofits, upgrades or enhancements.
• Manage assigned work to ensure professional and timely execution.
• Provide field changes sketches for engineering corrections.
• Train customers in control systems operations and documentation.
• Maintain clear communication with customers on progress and issues.
