Job summary

Johnson Controls in Madison Heights, MI is seeking a Controls Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of building automation systems on customer sites. You will diagnose complex control malfunctions and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through on-site service and clear communication.

We value hands-on experience with HVAC control systems, knowledge of control theory, and the ability to mentor junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Six years minimum Commercial Controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Vocational School program graduate or associate's degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
• Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
• Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of building automation systems on site.
• Diagnose complex control malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of electronic/digital controls and test modifications.
• Provide field proposals for retrofits, upgrades and enhancements to existing equipment.
• Mentor and train other technicians on building automation systems.
• Ensure safety and quality by adhering to Johnson Controls and customer standards.
