Building Automation Controls Senior Service Specialist

The Building Automation Controls Senior Service Specialists are responsible for preventive maintenance, repairs, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of HVAC and Building Automation Systems in large commercial settings such as hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities. This role primarily involves service maintenance agreements, project work, and emergency on-call services. Your expertise and customer interaction will help save energy, reduce costs, and promote sustainability.

As a Senior Service Specialist, you will:

  • Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and the Digital Service Center.
  • Adhere to safety requirements outlined by Siemens and clients.
  • Complete required training programs.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Build relationships at all organizational levels within customer sites and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend service agreements, upgrades, or escalations.
  • Coordinate with contractors and maintain tools and test equipment.
  • Respond to service calls, perform repairs, and document services accurately.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and generate reports.
  • Provide operational instructions and training to customer personnel.
  • Identify system discrepancies, suggest upgrades, and assist in pricing repairs and upgrades.
  • Perform system checkout, startup, and participate in final walk-throughs for project turnover.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, resolve issues, and utilize Siemens' technology.
  • Work overtime and on rotational on-call schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Mentor junior specialists as needed.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with preventive maintenance and diagnostics of commercial HVAC controls and building automation systems.
  • Experience with open protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, and networking.
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts, programming, system start-up, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, laptops, email, smartphones, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in an on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

  • High school diploma.
