The City of Amarillo is seeking a Building Attendant I to perform event set-ups, general cleaning, and assist clients at the Civic Center. Starting wage is $16.00 per hour.
Responsibilities include erecting stages, cleaning restrooms, operating cleaning equipment, and maintaining safety during events. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are possible in a dynamic indoor environment.

SUMMARY This position performs set-ups for various events (risers, tables, chairs, etc.); performs general cleaning duties in the Civic Center; assists clients with information using the Civic Center; and maintains equipment used in job functions.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is required to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee must also walk, climb, crawl, crouch, stand, stoop, sit, hear, feel, finger, grasp, handle, reach, speak, see, and talk. Also requires the ability to make rational decisions and perform repetitive motions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee works in a dynamic primarily indoor environment that requires being sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs. This position is required to work shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather. This position is considered weather essential personnel.
