ARCO Design/Build in Pittsburgh is offering an internship/co-op opportunity for students in accredited civil, mechanical, architectural, or construction management programs. You will gain hands-on exposure to project scope from concept to delivery, participate in estimating, scheduling, design meetings, and reporting, and develop professional skills in a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering (or related majors).
• Driver's License is required.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
• Previous Co-op or Intern experience in construction preferred, but not required.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Concept to Completion Approach: Understand how ARCO manages projects from concept to final delivery.
• Estimating and Takeoffs: Learn to describe project proposals and assign accurate dollar values.
• Scheduling: Assist in creating timelines for subcontractors and trades activities.
• Design Meetings: Attend owner and design team meetings, including structural engineers and architects.
• Reporting: Prepare weekly reports, document progress, and track action items.
