Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a Build Reliability Engineering Intern to support the development, improvement, and standardization of manufacturing processes for the next-generation aircraft. You will collaborate with engineers and technicians to identify challenges, investigate root causes, and implement improvements on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering or related field.
• Undergraduate student in 3rd or 4th year, or enrolled in a Master's/PhD program.
• Hands-on experience building, fabricating, assembling, or testing hardware.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

• Support development and improvement of manufacturing processes for aircraft structures and hardware.
• Work hands-on with sheet metal, welded assemblies, tooling, and manufacturing equipment on the factory floor.
• Investigate defects, nonconformances and inefficiencies to identify root causes.
• Develop and implement corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency.
• Help establish standardized processes and best practices for welding, fabrication, repair, preparation and assembly.
• Create and improve work instructions, process documentation and manufacturing standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to capture lessons learned for future builds.
• Support continuous improvement projects across structural manufacturing and aircraft assembly.
