Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a manufacturing internship to join our hands-on team building high-speed aircraft hardware. You will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and machinists across welding, additive, tube bending, machining, and avionics to help bring a vehicle from development into production.

This internship runs Spring (16 weeks) and Summer (12 weeks) with weekly lunches and opportunities to work on tooling, processes, and documentation, including work instructions, BOMs, and standard

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a STEM program (undergrad year 3–4 or grad school).
• Hands-on hardware design, build, test or manufacturing experience.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals with interest in vehicle hardware.
• Familiar with manufacturing, assembly, testing, CAD, drawings, or GD&T.
• GPA 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing and process improvement projects focused on safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency
• Partner with engineers and technicians to support hardware build, integration, and production activities
• Assist with root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and resolution of manufacturing issues
• Help evaluate designs for manufacturability, testability, and production readiness
• Support development and improvement of tooling, assembly processes, and test procedures
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that reduce build time, improve quality, and eliminate waste
• Assist with troubleshooting non-conforming hardware and documenting findings
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, test procedures, BOMs, and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the transition of hardware from development into production
