Job summary

Golden Corral is seeking energetic, friendly individuals to join our team as a Cook. The Cook is responsible for the quality, quantity, tastiness, and freshness of all Hot Choice Buffet products, with focus on speed, cleanliness, organization, and adherence to product specifications.

The role requires hot preparation, grilling to standards, FIFO inventory, and guest assistance during service. This is a fast-paced position emphasizing food safety, teamwork, and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Prepares Hot Choice Buffet products, including Carving and Display Cooking items, according to Golden Corral recipes and procedures.
• Grills all items to Golden Corral standards to ensure quality.
• Ensures every fried product is fresh and hot.
• Restocks items at the Display Cooking Station if the Buffet Attendant is unavailable.
• Assists guests with carved meat options when the Carver is unavailable.
• Uses the buffet production system to ensure quality and shelf life compliance.
• Maintains correct temperatures during cooking, holding and serving.
• Uses production guides to inventory hot cook products.
• Performs opening and closing administrative procedures.
• Maintains equipment per the Equipment Maintenance manual.
• Restocks and rotates food using FIFO.
• Takes inventory and checks build-to with the Manager at shift start and end.
• Keeps the hot cook area and smallware clean and ensures dish cleanliness before use.
• Handles duty roster and ensures cleanliness, service, and quality standards.
• Follows local health department laws.
• Keeps the grill area clean for product quality and sanitation.
• Ensures hot buffet products are always hot and fresh for guests.
• Maintains professional communication with guests.
• Is friendly and courteous to guests and assists with products.
