Job summary

UCAR is seeking a Budget Analyst I to support the Research Applications Laboratory (RAL). You will prepare budgets, assist with proposals, and provide post-award financial management and reporting.

You will work with PIs, program managers, and the administrative team to ensure accurate spending, forecasts, and timely submissions. This full-time role requires collaboration across multiple programs and departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Experience with proposal preparation, budgeting, and post-award management is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Create budgets, budget justifications, and required forms for proposals and awards.
• Collaborate with PIs and teams on lead and non-lead proposals to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide budget and financial analysis, reconcile issues, and generate reports and forecasts.
• Support subawards, subcontracts, and close-out activities with appropriate documentation.
• Assist with tracking invoices, journal entries, and monthly postings; ensure compliance.
