Job summary

UCAR in Boulder, CO is seeking a Budget Analyst I to provide budgetary support to the Research Applications Laboratory. The role involves pre- and post-award management, preparing proposals and support documentation, and conducting financial analysis and reporting.

The position requires collaboration with PIs and the administrative team, ensuring accurate expense allocation, forecasts, and timely reporting. This is a full-time role with potential cross-team back-up responsibilities within RAL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with at least two years of related experience.
• Knowledge of grant and contract proposal processes and submission.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Create supplemental documents for proposal submissions (budgets, Budget Justifications, CVs, etc.).
• Collaborate with PIs and collaborators on proposals to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide budget and finance support including forecasting, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Assist with subawards/subcontracts and export compliance responsibilities.
• Reconcile sponsor and vendor invoicing and assist with monthly postings.
• Coordinate with Contract Department to manage awards and closeouts.
