Job summary

Cal Poly Pomona is seeking a Budgetary Tracking and Analysis professional to support the SGSB and College Centers. The role involves analyzing budget data, posting information, and assisting with ongoing budgetary control for allocations within a university setting.

You will monitor revenues, expenditures, and encumbrances, and contribute to budget summaries for the Dean, Associate Deans, SGSB, and Directors. Collaboration with the Budget Analyst II and cross-unit stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Combination - Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field; substitution on a year-for-year basis.
• General knowledge of budgeting principles, concepts, and processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to summarize mathematical and statistical information.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software; ability to learn financial systems.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support budgeting initiatives with data analysis and posting of budget data.
• Monitor and reconcile accounts related to SGSB, Centers, and Institutes.
• Prepare budget summaries and assist with projections and reports for the Dean, Associate Deans, SGSB, and Directors.
• Coordinate with the Budget Analyst II and provide customer service to stakeholders.
