Job summary

The State of Florida Division of Emergency Management in Tallahassee is seeking a Budget Analyst B - SES to lead budget development, financial reporting, and grant administration for multiple programs.

This role requires analyzing financial data, preparing narratives for budget requests, and coordinating with OPB and legislative staff, with occasional extended hours during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Florida accounting, financial, budgetary and procurement systems.
• Ability to review, analyze, and evaluate data.
• Ability to examine financial records.
• Ability to understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Ability to conduct research and prepare reports.
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate submission of federal grant award applications and monitor related financials.
• Manage operating budgets, rate controls, and financial reporting.
• Assist in developing Legislative Budget Requests with narrative justification.
• Analyze budget requests and prepare supporting data and forms.
• Coordinate with OPB and legislative analysts on budget requests.
• Prepare analyses for Governor's Recommendations and related bills.
• Participate in year-end closing activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
