Budget Analyst 1 - 3
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is seeking an experienced Budget Analyst 1 - 3 to serve in the Budget Section within the Office of Management and Finance. This position is responsible for advanced budget preparation, review, monitoring, and analysis activities related to DOTD’s Capital Outlay budget.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented fiscal professional who is comfortable analyzing budget data, preparing budget materials, working in LaGov financial systems, monitoring project expenditures and revenues, and helping ensure budget activities are completed accurately and promptly.
Applicants with experience in Capital Outlay budget, Federal budget, and LaGov are encouraged to apply and will be given preferred consideration.
Three years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor’s degree.
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
This position may be filled as either a probational appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified and Agency-wide permanent status employees); or by detail to special duty.
This position may be filled as a Budget Analyst 1, 2, or 3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected.
This position has a biweekly Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $1,616.00 for the Budget Analyst 1, $1,728.80 for the Budget Analyst 2, and $1,944.80 for the Budget Analyst 3.
Additional compensation may be considered for applicants who possess extraordinary job-related qualifications or credentials in accordance with State Civil Service Rule 6.5(g) and DOTD policy. Any such consideration is subject to approval, verification, and applicable pay limitations.
