Job summary

The State of Oklahoma, through the ODMHSAS Central Administration, seeks a Budget Analyst to manage complex budgetary and financial operations. You will coordinate budget requests, monitor operating budgets, and prepare data for fiscal reporting and legislative processes.

This is a full-time, in-office role with defined salary levels and benefits. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in business or public administration (or equivalent) and experience in budget administration or analysis,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, economics, accounting or finance, or equivalent combination.
• One year of experience in professional budget administration or fiscal analysis for Level II.
• Willing and able to fulfill travel with a valid driver’s license.

Budget Analyst

About the Position

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and performing complex budgetary and financial operations. It oversees the formulation of budget requests and operating budgets, works closely with program directors to assess and address budgetary needs, and manages assigned operating budgets. The role includes completing surveys and studies to determine state agency fiscal requirements for assigned divisions, conducting research on legislation, and preparing fiscal information for legislative appropriation and substantive bills. Additionally, it involves accumulating and analyzing various budgetary, income, and expenditure data to prepare budget-to-actual and other financial reports, as well as maintaining data on budgetary systems and financial programs for assigned programs and divisions.
