Job summary

Pratt Industries, Inc. is seeking an extrusion machine operator to join our plastics facility in the United States. You will set up lines, load resin, monitor the process, and ensure bubble-wrap film meets quality and efficiency targets.

You will work with maintenance to resolve issues, follow safety rules, and participate in housekeeping and reporting. A high school diploma or GED is required, and experience in packaging or cast-film extrusion is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: prior packaging industry experience (paper, plastics, converting).
• Preferred: 1 year experience on cast-film extrusion machines.
• Preferred: experience with Production Software (Vorne, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times following Pratt Industries safety rules and GMPs.
• Setup extrusion lines producing bubble-wrap film from resin.
• Load resin, additives, and blends into hoppers; verify material types and ratios.
• Complete or assist with roll changes during shift.
• Monitor machine output; adjust melt temperatures, pressures, bubble height, inflation, and cooling.
• Identify and correct machine issues; report major issues via Maintenance work orders.
• Maintain machine upkeep: die cleaning, screen changes, and filter changes.
• Keep work areas clean and free of hazards; adhere to production schedule.
