Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking an extrusion Machine Operator to set up, run, and clean bubble-wrap film lines. You will load resins and additives, verify materials, and perform roll changes while monitoring quality and throughput.

You will troubleshoot line issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure adherence to safety procedures. Overtime and occasional holidays in a 24x7 operation are possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Packaging experience preferred; 1+ year on cast-film extrusion machines; Vorne software familiarity.
• Fast-paced environment with frequent product changes; adapt quickly.
• Read and follow quality, safety, and job instructions.
• Math: read tape measures, calculate percentages and dimensions; metric system.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Pratt Lift Truck Operator License.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and clean plastics extrusion equipment producing bubble-wrap film.
• Load and verify resin, additives, and blends; confirm materials and ratios.
• Perform roll changes during the shift.
• Monitor output; adjust parameters for quality and throughput.
• Troubleshoot bubble breaks, wrinkles, jams, and die lines.
• Execute routine upkeep: die cleaning, screen and filter changes.
• Maintain housekeeping during the shift; end-of-shift cleaning.
• Follow Pratt Industries quality procedures; prevent shipment of nonconforming product.
• Optimize efficiency and limit waste/downtime while protecting product quality.
• Train and assist other extrusion Machine Operators on setup and changeovers.
• Complete Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety and Quality reports.
• Follow policies; report scheduling issues to Supervisor.
• Work overtime; occasional holidays in a 24x7 operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
