Job summary
Concordia University Chicago is seeking a nursing tutor to provide individualized and small-group tutoring for BSN students. The tutor will reinforce course content, support NCLEX preparation, and promote student success in core nursing coursework.
The role requires an active Illinois RN license and a bachelor's degree or higher in nursing, with at least two years of clinical experience. The tutor will collaborate with nursing faculty to tailor instruction and document progress.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Illinois RN license.
- BSN or higher in Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Tutoring or teaching experience with NCLEX prep preferred.
- Valid Illinois driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one and/or small-group tutoring sessions covering core BSN coursework.
- Provide NCLEX preparation and support student success by reinforcing clinical reasoning, dosage calculation, care planning, and high yield concepts in core BSN coursework.
- Provide writing and APA support
- Adapt tutoring approaches to support diverse learning styles and preparation levels.
- Maintain records of tutoring sessions, attendance, student progress, etc.
- Report these records regularly to the Director and Associate Director of Nursing or their designee.
