Job summary

Concordia University Chicago is seeking a nursing tutor to provide individualized and small-group tutoring for BSN students in River Forest, IL. The role reinforces course content, supports NCLEX preparation, and promotes student success in core nursing coursework.

The tutor will collaborate with nursing faculty to identify student needs and deliver evidence-based support aligned with the university's Christian mission and Lutheran identity. A RN license and nursing degree are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing required.
Active, unencumbered State of Illinois RN license required.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience; higher-education experience preferred.
Tutoring or teaching experience with NCLEX prep resources preferred.
Valid Illinois Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Conduct one-on-one and/or small-group tutoring sessions covering core BSN coursework.
Provide NCLEX preparation and support student success by reinforcing clinical reasoning, dosage calculation, care planning, and high-yield concepts in core BSN coursework.
Provide writing and APA support.
Adapt tutoring approaches to support diverse learning styles and preparation levels.
Maintain records of tutoring sessions, attendance, student progress, etc.
Report these records regularly to the Director and Associate Director of Nursing or their designee.
