Job summary

First Bank and Trust in Bristol, VA seeks a BSA Administrator to support the bank's Bank Secrecy Act and AML program through daily monitoring, investigations, and documentation. The role reviews transaction activity, prepares CTRs, assists with SARs, coordinates with Compliance, and supports branch personnel; travel to branches may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field.
• Two or more years of banking experience preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of BSA/AML and regulatory compliance; interest in continuing to develop.
• Experience with Verafin BSA/AML software is preferred.
• Ability to apply Bank Secrecy Act requirements when reviewing transactions and maintaining documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review daily cash and transaction reports and related cash reports.
• Review and process reports and alerts in Verafin BSA/AML software.
• Prepare and submit Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
• Investigate suspicious activity alerts and gather supporting documentation.
• Assist the BSA Officer with drafting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
• Provide BSA-related support to branch personnel.
• Ensure required documentation is collected during account openings.
• Assist with monthly/quarterly reviews and BSA Committee materials.
• Collect and analyze audit data and compile findings for reporting.
• Gather documentation for regulatory examinations and audits.
• Complete annual BSA training and assist Compliance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
