Job summary

Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group is seeking a kitchen team member to accurately and efficiently prepare hot foods, portion ingredients, and plate dishes with garnish. You will work closely with managers and front-of-house krewe to maintain standards and quality.

This role emphasizes adherence to recipes, portion sizes, clean and sanitary work habits, and physical stamina to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50lbs, with opportunities for growth and benefits as part of our all-day brunch concept.

Qualifications

• A firm belief that butter and bacon make everything better.
• Able to follow Ruby Standards and recipes consistently – responsible for the quality of products served.
• Complies with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and front of house krewe members.
• Be able to reach, bend stoop, and frequently lift up to 50lbs.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products.
• Prepare and portion food prior to cooking.
• Plating and garnishing of cooked items.
• Assist with other kitchen duties as needed.
