Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Brownfield Redevelopment Project Manager to lead site investigations, planning, and redevelopment efforts with private investment and grant programs.

You will coordinate with clients, municipalities, and environmental teams, develop project plans and budgets, ensure compliance with EGLE/USEPA programs, and guide teams through 6–24 month projects while engaging stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering, or a related field; applicable experience may substitute.
• Certification is a plus (CPG/PE or related).
• At least two years overseeing and managing technical environmental work; Brownfield experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Due Care Obligations under NR EPA and USEPA Continuing Obligations.
• Expertise in site characterization, exposure-pathway evaluation, and sampling strategies.
• Ability to prepare Health and Safety Plans, Sampling/Analysis Plans, and related Brownfield documents.

Responsibilities

• Manage Brownfield Redevelopment projects from inception through completion (6–24 months).
• Lead technical work on site characterization, risk assessment, and environmental planning.
• Coordinate with clients, Fishbeck departments, and partner organizations to execute project plans.
• Develop required project documentation including health and safety and sampling plans.
• Ensure compliance with EGLE and USEPA program requirements.
• Develop construction schedules, cost estimates, and risk mitigation activities.
• Oversee site development activities including vapor control and soil management.
• Manage budgets, schedules, scopes, and invoicing; provide updates to stakeholders.
• Stay current on regulations and best practices.
