Job summary

West Virginia University is seeking a Brownfield Redevelopment Project Associate with a focus on design and planning support for brownfield redevelopment in West Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Design, Planning, Public Administration, Environmental Studies, Geography or related disciplines
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in project experience, conceptual design development, public speaking, and/or community outreach
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Create conceptual master plans using input from diverse stakeholders, including development professionals, community members, and environmental experts.
• Design and implement community outreach strategies to interact with a wide variety of individuals such as the public, researchers, business personnel, state and federal agency personnel, and others.
• Provide research support in the identification and mapping of brownfield property/site characteristics including ownership, parcel/tax info, topography, and other landscape features.
• Read, analyze, and interpret maps, design documents, technical procedure documents, and governmental regulations.
• Cultivate and develop relationships with community and project stakeholders.
• Assist with development of reuse project designs for assigned projects.
• Serve as the project contact for communities and local projects as assigned, including management of communications with community stakeholders and facilitation of community development activities.
