Good Shepherd Services in New York, NY is seeking a Safe Passages Outreach Worker to support at‑risk youth within the B.R.A.G./DOE partnership. You will assist in attendance outreach, provide individual and group counseling, and help promote positive education and leadership outcomes at the partner schools.

The role involves collaboration with the Mediation Specialist and school staff, crisis intervention, and family engagement. 20 hours per week, non‑exempt, on site at the Bronx/Jerome Ave area.

Competenze

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Three years of experience in community work or related activities.
• Experience with at‑risk and gang‑involved youth and high‑risk teens.
• Ability to communicate clearly with staff, participants and community members.
• Proficiency with computers and common office programs.

Mansioni

• Support the Mediation Specialist with attendance outreach and counseling.
• Maintain attendance and educational progress for a caseload of students.
• Provide regular individual counseling meetings and crisis intervention when needed.
• Assist in family outreach and coordination with CVI and community resources.
• Help with recruitment, intake assessments and interviews.
• Engage families to support positive student outcomes and participate in staff meetings.
