Job summary

Good Shepherd Services, Ltd is seeking an Outreach Worker to join our Bronx team. The role supports reducing shootings and violence in targeted hot spot areas by coordinating field visits, community outreach, and partnerships with local organizations.

This position reports to the Outreach Worker Supervisor and is based at 233rd/Boston Road, Bronx, NY, with a 35-hour work week. The ideal candidate has knowledge of the Bronx 47th Precinct neighborhoods, strong communication skills, and experience

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Bronx 47th Precinct neighborhoods and local dynamics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to pass drug screening and have a valid NYS driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of 10–15 participants.
• Perform Admission Criteria Screenings.
• Schedule and conduct regular home and in-person visits, plus phone contacts.
• Develop and track Risk Reduction Plans for participants.
• Coordinate outreach activities and partner with community-based organizations.
• Provide mediation and linkage to services as needed.
